Yea, this seems pretty useless..
Why cant you just take an extra 5 seconds and check what your doing so you don't delete your chars? It seems to me that you are just rushing to do things, slow down and double check, there's no need for any of this to be implemented. If your dropping items on the ground for e-peen factor, you deserve to have them taken away.

The first one sounds the most easy, but the third would be fine, too. I don't know why this isn't being implemented since it's been mentioned (the first one at least) many times.

This is to combine all 3 points together for complete peace of mind. This is of course to stop someone else from ruining your account whether a hacker or a brother. The link you provided was only a part of my idea.

character lock sounds good, but I think the easiest would still be the email confirmation that you changed your password--if you dont reply you cant change it unless you go to the website and answer a ton of stupid questions (my car is red, my dog is blues clues....)

Your suggestion requires work on NCSoft's part. Melissa's suggestions require work on ANet's part. I have more faith in ANet.
I like the first and second idea but the third seems like overkill.

Sounds like these ideas are from Perfect World. That game has many smart anti hacking tools within the game such as a virtual keyboard you use to type your password in at the log in screen and a password for your storage.

Yap, It is from PWI. But who wouldn't want their items locked if you spent like US$30 for a small pair of wings?
For GW, with its history of being hacked, I say they should look into this system too.
And the virtual keyboard thingy would also be a good idea actually.

Definitely. I like the idea of passwords for most things.... would deffinitely perma lock my derv.
Custo lock would be good. but also for salvaging. Obby armor and chaos gloves salvage into ectos or dust... and maybe set it with an option of once per character selection. E.g. Whenever you select a character and go into it, you only have to enter the password once while your on that character, when you choose another the thing resets and you must type it in again.
